Open Enrollment at the Academy of Hawaiian Arts

We invite you to join us and share in our mission to keep Hawaiiana alive through 'ohana, mele & hula. Become part of the haumana (student body) at the Academy of Hawaiian Arts during January 2012 and your registration fee will be waived. Additional incentives offered for those who qualify. How to enroll at AHA

Please bring the following when you attend your first class:
  • your completed printable Application Form (PDF 148Kb)
  • $25 initiation/registration fee
  • your first month's dues ($60 for 1 class or $75 for 2 classes)

    Please also read the AHA Student Guidelines prior to enrolling.

AHA Kane

AHA Uniform

Members are required to purchase the AHA uniform to wear during practice (2 shirts for $27). Wahine (female) dancers wear a white pa'u skirt and an AHA tshirt. Kane (male) dancers wear loose fitting shorts and an AHA tshirt. More information on your uniform will be provided by your class representatives.

For your first class, wear a loose fitting tshirt (preferably solid black or white) and comfortable leggings or shorts. If you have a pa'u skirt, please bring that with you. Be sure to also bring bottled water.
