Target joins AHA on the Voyage
AHA Awarded $2000 Target arts grant
Academy of Hawaiian Arts (AHA) has been awarded a grant of $2000 by the San Leandro store of Target Corporation. The award will allow students of local schools to attend 'Alua on Sunday, November 20, 2005. Read more

Traveling To Kaua‘i - From the San Francisco Presidio to Po‘ipu Beach
On August 7, I couldn't help experiencing an odd kind of double thrill: to be performing at San Francisco's renowned Aloha Festival, as AHA presented a suite of songs dedicated to the island of Kaua‘i. The second was to know that 24 hours later, I would be able to visit the places we were honoring in song and dance – I was finally going to Kaua'i! Read on

What We Hand Down to Our Keiki...Our Intentions
It is often said that our keiki are the hula dancers of the future, therefore their hula is influenced by our teachings. So what exactly are we handing down to our keiki? Most obvious answers would be the dances of Hawaiian stories, culture and traditions but before that, what we are really passing on are our intentions.
