Established in 2003, Na Pua Lehua I Ka Ua Noe under the direction of Kumu Hula Keoni Chang is based in Chino Hills, CA. Between 8 and 10 kane (male) dancers currently study
at the halau; since 2004, they have placed in the award categories of major hula competitions. Kumu Keoni believes Ka Hula Hou will provide an opportunity to really see how the audience feels about his dancers and his hula.  Read more

Kumu Hula Kamaile Hamada opened his Federal Way, Washington halau in 1996 after a celebrated history of hula in Kaua'i. His kane dancers have garnered multiple awards in national competitions. The men of Manawaiopuna are coming well-prepared with an arsenal of dances and songs and Kumu Kamaile says, "Bring it on!" Read more

Kumu Hula Kawika and Leinani Viloria started Halau Hula O Kawika Laua ‘O Leinani 15 years ago in Diamond Bar, CA. Since 2004, their kane dancers have regularly taken home awards from national hula competitions. They both admit to being "stoked" about being a part of this unconventional competition. Read more

Kumu Hula Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu founded the Academy of Hawaiian Arts in Oakland, CA in 2003 after 25 years of teaching hula in California. His current group of 12-15 kane dancers are a combination of fearless, comical, sexy, and brutal. Creator of the Ka Hula Hou challenge, Kumu Mark says, "I want to see what happens when kumu hula, and the dancers, are challenged to best each other on the floor with just their dance."
