Waikiki Tickets on Sale 8/10 Waikiki Tickets Go On Sale August 10th

The magic of Waikiki is coming to Hayward this fall! Academy of Hawaiian Arts and MKH Productions present "Waikiki" on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Chabot College Performing Arts Center in Hayward, CA.

Tickets officially go on sale to the public on August 10th at Brown Paper Tickets. To reserve your seats during this special pre-sale period (without service fees and at a discounted price,) call (510) 229-3538 to purchase by phone.

Until Sunday, general reserved seating is $35 and VIP seating and pre-show reception is $100. Learn more about tickets at AHA's website.

"Waikiki" debuts a new, original work by kumu hula Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu and the award-winning dancers of the Academy of Hawaiian Arts. Focusing on the celebrated location, Waikiki, from impressions of life before Western contact to its "Golden Age," this modern interpretation of Hawaiian dance promises to educate, entertain and inspire. You won't want to miss it!

The Academy of Hawaiian Arts closed the festivities of the 15th Annual Aloha Festival in San Francisco last weekend (Sunday, August 1st). The Academy was especially excited to have debuted our keikikane (boy) dancers dancing alongside their hula uncles and, in many cases, fathers. Check out the video of these kane that stole the show.
