Target joins AHA on the Voyage
AHA Awarded $2000 Target arts grant
The Academy of Hawaiian Arts (AHA) has been awarded a grant of $2000 by the San Leandro store of Target Corporation. The award will allow students of local schools to attend 'Alua on Sunday, November 20, 2005.

For Target, the goal of awarding an arts grant is to make it affordable for the entire family to participate in different arts and cultural experiences. Therefore, programs that bring the arts to schools or children to the arts are of particular interest.

AHA's grants team, including Pat Ravarra, Christine Dillman and Brendan McDougall worked closely with Target to determine the best allocation for the award. AHA would like to thank Gina Buscheck and Sherrie Rodriguez of the San Leandro Target Store for reviewing the AHA grant application!

Grants and giving are an important part of AHA's development as a non-profit organization. The grants team plans future applications to the Clorox Company, the Oakland Athletics, the City of Oakland, and the East Bay Community Foundation.
